Wrist Pain - Solving the Problem of Wrist Pain

Did you know that you can visit the chiropractor for your wrist pain? Many people think that the chiropractor is only for the back. This isn't quite accurate. Due to the unique nature of the human spine, and the large number of nerves that pass through that area, slight alignment problems in the spine can translate to pain in many areas of the body. Nerves next to the spinal cord have very little room and when misalignment of the spine happens, the resulting swelling can put undue pressure on those nerves resulting in pain in different areas of the body. When you fix the problems in the back, the ancillary pain goes away as well.

One of the newest tools chiropractors can use is called Spinal Decompression Therapy or DTS. The goal of this therapy is to restore the spine to a normal `compress and release' movement. The bones of our spinal cord are separated by pads of cartilage which serve as cushions to keep the bones from scraping against each other and damaging the cord in their center. Normally these discs compress with the bending of the spine and then spring back into place as the spine straightens. Over time the discs can be susceptible to small tears and cracks, and when this happens they can get compressed and not have the ability to release. When this happens, the compressed edge of the disc will jut out beyond the edges of the spine and put pressure on nearby nerves - leading to pain in the body - even wrist pain.

DTS helps solve this problem through the use of a unique therapy table. The patient is carefully strapped into the table in a supine position and using a computer therapy template created by the doctor, the machine simulates the normal `contract and release' movement of a healthy back. By stretching the spine, DTS gives room for the compressed disc to move back into place. This can result in almost immediate relief of wrist pain and other bodily aches. Although the relief from the first session is not likely to be permanent, over time the pain will be entirely eradicated.

Chiropractic care can have a marked effect on your overall health and well being. Back compression can lead to headaches, nerve pain, joint pain, back pain, and yes, even wrist pain. If you want to solve the problem of wrist pain for once and for all chiropractic care may be just the answer.
