Dear Pain Sufferer,
My name is Dr. Marco Caruso. I’m a chiropractor
here in the town of Eastchester, NY, located in lower Westchester
County.
I specialize in a technique called Spinal Decompression
therapy. It’s a non-surgical procedure that has been introduced to treat herniated
discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis, and bulging discs. The technique
is used as an alternative to surgery. For several years now, we’ve
been seeing some fantastic results with it.
The bones (vertebrae) that form the spine are cushioned
by small, spongy discs. When these discs are healthy, they act
as shock absorbers for the spine and keep the spine flexible.
But when a disc is damaged, it may bulge or break open. This is
called a herniated disc. It may also be called a “slipped”
or “ruptured disc.”
Spinal Decompression specializes in reliving the problem and pain
of a slipped or ruptured disc in two major ways:
First, Spinal Decompression increases the height
between the vertebrae, creating a negative pressure within the
disc, which will then draw back the disc material.
Second, Spinal Decompression increases blood flow
to the disc, which will then allow the outer layer or the annular
bands to start laying down new cartilage fibers, containing the
disc legion without surgery.
Now, if you are suffering from a herniated disc,
think about what this can mean for you.
Traditional treatments have always been focused
on alleviating pain for the patient. This is usually done with
prescription drugs such as Vicodin, Percocet, and Demerol. While
drugs temporarily get rid of the pain, they do not necessarily
address the reason the pain is there to begin with.
With Spinal decompression we’re going after
the cause of your pain. We’re addressing the disc herniation
itself, which is putting direct pressure on the spinal nerve.
This is meant to ease the symptoms relatively early during the treatment program because we’re actually trying
to correct the disc herniation itself, not just give patients
pain relief.
The beauty behind spinal decompression is that it allows blood to return back to the disc, providing a way for natural healing. Blood is very essential to healing.
We’re also teaching patients how to sit, how
to stand, how to work, and more importantly how to prevent this
injury from every coming back.
If you’re suffering from chronic or severe
low back pain or you have a herniated disc or you’ve been
