Making A Difference Across Westchester County
“Lower back pain, leg pain, and/or neck
pain isn’t something you have to live with,” says
Dr. Marco Caruso, founder of Spine Care in Eastchester County,
NY. If this sounds like good news, it gets even better.
Dr Caruso—who has a warm, confident demeanor—specializes
in the world’s most advanced non-surgical, non-prescription
technique to alleviate lower back pain caused by herniated and
degenerative discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis, and posterior facet
syndrome.
What’s his secret?
He uses the SpineMED Table, which is designed
to comfortably and accurately increase intersegmental disc space,
providing non-surgical decompression of lumbar discs. The object
of decompression is to reduce the pressure inside the disc and
facilitate the transfer of fluids, nutrients and oxygen back inside
the disc.
Are You A Pain Sufferer Who Lives In Manhattan
Or Westchester County?
Patients across Westchester County come to Dr.
Caruso for Spinal Decompression therapy, including Rye, Harrison,
New Rochelle, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Scarsdale, Yonkers, Bronxville,
Valhalla, Thornwood, Hawthorne, Elmsford, Armonk, Chester Heights,
Port Chester, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, Pelham, and Mamaroneck.
Dr. Caruso began using Spinal Decompression therapy
back in January 2002, and he was the first in Westchester County
to utilize this revolutionary treatment. A graduate of the University
of Bridgeport, College of Chiropractic, he is trained in various
types of pain management, and his goal is not just to reduce the symptoms
but to ease their underlying causes.
He feels that many people unnecessarily go the
lengthy route of painkillers, acupuncture, and other methods,
and he believes that the SpineMED table offers a powerfully effective
shortcut, with its state-of-the art technology.
How Spinal Decompression Therapy On The
SpineMED Table Works
The entire procedure is administered with the patient
fully clothed. First the patient's back or neck muscles are warmed
with dry hydrotherapy or diathermy so they will stretch without
spasm. Then the patient lies back on a unique upper harness that
is designed to comfortably secure the upper body to the fixed
table section. Once the patient is positioned on the table, the
(patent pending) Pelvic Restraints are adjusted to comfortably
secure the patient's pelvis. With precise and painless computer
controlled tension, the specific disc segment is slowly and gently
distracted to reduce the pressure inside the disc.
Most patients will witness a reduction of their symptoms
between 15 and 25 sessions, while the average recommended course
of treatment is 20 sessions. Ideally, the sessions are performed
daily with rest on the weekend. At the conclusion of the treatment
series, when the disc injury has been corrected, patients are
given mobilization and strengthening exercises to avoid repeat
injury.
Scientific Evidence In Support Of Spinal Decompression Therapy
After only a few weeks of treatment, research
shows its effectiveness in reducing the debilitating pain
caused by degenerative, bulging, herniated or ruptured discs,
as well as sciatica, posterior facet syndrome, spinal stenosis,
and many failed back surgery cases. Most patients are able to
return to normal levels of activity at work or recreation in just
a few weeks time. The SpineMED Table has a success rate of 86%,
giving patients complete remission from their current problem
in comparison to a success rate of 60%-70% from traditional back
surgery.
Dr. Caruso notes that patients feel the benefits
of the SpineMED Table early in their course of healing. He warns people
to complete the entire process. “It is imperative that
patients continue their recommended sessions,” he says.
“You shouldn’t cancel your appointments just because
you feel better.” As sessions progress, Dr. Caruso adjusts
the dosage of the treatment in order to optimize the results.
